Apprentice Jedi and Darth Vader waiting in line

It was raining, cold and windy Friday morning. Here's a family with several children and a creative solution to the rain.

Bai couldn't sit still. She put on quite of show to everyone's delight.

Michelle and Denny Hawkins taking a break. I think it involved food. We met in line outside and were happy to see them again in the Exhibit Hall. Michelle, how's the baby coming along?

One of two magnificent all-metal model sets for sale.

More merchandise being peddled.

Honestly, I have no idea who these people were. It just looked like the guy on the floor was having a blast.

Bjørn: "Why did I bring all this junk to carry around?"

These two girls were selling wonderful leather ware. There was no way the girl on the right was going to let me take her picture. She almost succeeded in deterring me.

Sarah Wilkinson, Detroit artist, showing her stuff. Her web site is www.sarahwilkinson.net

The other two terrific all-metal models for sale.

These little budding princess Leias were adorable – and so happy to have their picture taken.

The operator of this R2D2 was in heaven. Never have I seen so many grown men (and women) have so much fun with their toys. Ah, the children liked them, too.

This little boy was mesmerized, he really wanted to get acquainted.

While standing in line, I was able to take this photo through the window of the Capital Building.

Bjørn strutting at the head of the line to se the artists.

Looking up revealed some attractive architectural features.

Bjørn now sitting in my chair ... pleased with himself. He bought it for me for $4 at Wal-Mart. A wonderful bribe to make me go!

As you may have gathered, waiting in line became boring. Fortunately there were diversions like this one.

An original George Lukas creation!

Jay Laga'ia (Emcee) singing "Happy Birthday" for...

If you don't know what this is, you would not be interested in these pages!

A number of miniature models were on display; this one was about 16" long with incredible detail.

I was most impressed with this model; its opening was 5"x6" and it was only about 10" deep. Click for an enlargement and see the detail!

Angela (now married) keeping law and order as she did three years ago. (See next photo from 2002.)

Same woman at StarWars Celebration II in 2002:
Storm Trouper and Imperial Guard (Angela Jolicœur) forcing Bjørn at laser-point to apologize to his Dad for making him wait in line for him.

Storm Troupers apparently come in all styles and shapes. This one caught the eye but ... → → → →

eventually she was escorted out!

End of day 2.
